The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is the primary regulatory authority for the securities and commodity markets in India. The objectives of SEBI are to protect the interests of investors, promote the development of the securities market, and regulate its functioning.

This includes protecting digital identities including privileged identities through many measures such as multi-factor authentication, password vaulting, access control, audit trails, data encryption, data loss prevention and other techniques.
